Other Notes: The lucky daughter-in-law who received this Cherry Ripe Quilt loved its colors and notes that "You could probably say the colors used in my new house derived from this quilt!" The quiltmaker made her first quilt, a Lone Star, in 1971, when she was "40ish." , Mrs. Mathews has exhibited her quilts often at quilt shows, where they regularly are awarded viewer's choice ribbon and recognized for their superb workmanship and artistry.
