The quilt was designed to be displayed on a wall rather than used on a bed., Mrs. Fowlkes made her first quilt--a Sampler--in 1981 and is now a consistent winner at fairs and shows. She teachers quiltmaking and lectures widely, and her quilts have been featured in magazines, books, and museum exhibitions.
