Layout Format: Pictorial
Quilt Size: 78.75 inches x 118 inches
Fabrics: Cotton, Other blends, Solid/plain, Voile
Colors: Black, Gray
Construction: Machine Piecing, Sheer Voile with black lines applied like a window over the landscape behind it.
Quilting Techniques: Hand quilting
Other Notes: I was taking a landscape class from Susie Weaver when I saw a photo of Frank Lloyd Wright window wanting to be a quilt. I wondered if I could put a landscape under the window. The window (top surface of this quilt) is made of voile with the leading of straight-cut broadcloth sew in (as opposed to bias tape appliqued on top). The desert landscape is underneath as though one is looking out the window. I appliqued hollyhocks as they were a favorite of Mr. Wright. The entire project is hand quilted.
