Described block by block, upper left to lower right. #1 Tulip variation with Celtic Chain, red and green., Hand appliqued. 2 blocks – one not finished. @1930s fabrics #2 Appliqued Flower Basket. Gold basket & flower centers, red and green solids. Basted to be appliqued. Basket gold with open lattice work. May be maker’s own design. Used two different red fabrics @1900. #3 Double Monkey Wrench, Churn Dash, Shoo Fly, etc. (Brackman 1646 a). Dark green fabric with black and white print matching #4 fabric. c. early 1900s #4 Grape Basket, Basket of Chips, May Basket, Picnic Basket (Brackman 712). Green, red with black & white print. Red fabric has newspaper boy print. C.early 1900s. #5 Cactus Flower, Cactus Rose, Scripture Quilt, Peony (Rehmel 1079). Flower is red with green print leaves.Flower pieced 4 parallelograms in red, 2 green for leaves, other leaves and stems are appliqued. C.1890s fabrics. #6 Princess Feather. “Well-Balanced” note by Mary Barton. Red and dark green cotton on muslin background. Basted and tacked – appears to be ready for an embroidery stitch. Has a green and red 8-point star in center. Points meet the feathers of same colors. C.1900 fabrics.
