These blocks are part of one person’s collection - she saved 300 patterns printed in newspapers before 1940. 17 blocks on panel. Name written under block on panel. Described upper left to lower right. #1 Strawberry or Full Blown Tulip (Brackman 3653). Ceasar’s Crown (Rehmel 1388 or 500 with colors reversed). #2 Feather Star (Rehmel 834) #3 Rolling Star. 8 points. #4 Wedding Ring (Rehmel 475) #5 Forbidden Fruit Tree (Rehmel 28). Variation - solid color. #6 Checkerboard (Brackman 2276 b). #7 Pinwheel variation (Brackman 1262 a), set on point. #8 Sunflower. Pattern cut from 1894 letter sent from Sandwich. 3 flowers on stems and 2 leaves. #9 Diamond Star (Brackman 2439 b). 1898 pattern cut from newspapers. #10 Lily (Rehmel 1086 North Carolina Lily). #11 Tulips in Vase (Rehmel 68 Basket of Tulips; Basket of Lilies). #12 Box (Rehmel 1502 Box; Open Box, Eccentric Star).
