Learned to quilt from: She learned from her mother originally, then re-learned from Murriel Pample (from Iowa) Other quilts by the quiltmaker: Louisiana, California, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands. They are with the maker, maker's childern, grandchildren, other relitives and friends. Made approx. 25-30. She was 64 years old when she began quilting after retiring from nursing; she was a founding member of the West Bank Quilters Club formed in 1977, and she hosted 13th Annual National Quilters Assoc. Quilt show in New Orleans in 1982. She served as Merchant Mail Chairperson for that show. She entered three quilts, all won ribbons. In a quilt show in Baton Rouge, she won 1st place for a Dresden Plate quilt. She went to Nursing School. Education Level: Post high school, went to nursing school.

She was influenced by her mother in Tennessee during her early years - Murriel Pampel's encouragement and West Bank Quilter's Association (which she helped organize - 1977). Family traditions (mother, grandmother) and other quilters met through quilti

This is the first quilt, of any type, that Dale Kennedy ever made. She copied the pattern from a doll quilt that her mother had made in the 1950s for Dale's daughter.
