The owner writes, "This quilt was given to the maker's great granddaughter, Meagan Ardis Marsalis. The maker, Susie Marsalis, is still living by herself, and she was born in 1899. She still keeps Meagan after school and they are very, very close. She is a fine Southern lady of the 'old school'."
