The white squares on top were feed sacks. Wheat short for hogs came in bags made of unbleached muslin. Designs were from scraps given to her by her mother, who was a seamstress who made a whole dress for 25 cents. Bottom and sashings were made of material brought at J. I. Bordelon's country store on Island Rd. for 5 cents a yard.
