Pattern name of each block is embroidered in the chain stitch in its bottom sashing. "Lincoln's Platform" block has white bars in which is quilted "Fourscore and seven years ago our father's" from his Gettysburg Address. Michigan block has my birthdate embroidered in bottom sashing and my signature, "Lori, Aug 1993" is quilted in right hand sashing of the the block.

10 - 12 hour days, 6 days a week at Post Office prevented me from completing quilt till I retired. Most blocks had been pieced, but some were changed and new ones added to increase "theme."
