Tell the story of how the quilt was obtained:
This quilt belonged to original Hermansville pioneers and builders of the comapny town of Hermansville. It was last in the possession of the Dr. Earle family. Mrs. Earle was the daughter of C.J.L. Meyer (founder of the town). The elegant Earle home was torn down in 1943 and some of its historic contents (like this quilt) were stored away in the attic of the family business, once the offices of the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company, the largest hardwood floor manufacturer in the country (founded 1878). In 1982, the building and its contents were given to the community as a museum, which is how we came in possession of the quilt.
