Tell the story of how the quilt was obtained:
Quilt was found in the attics of the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company (hardwood flooring manufacturing firm, founded 1878) when the building was donated for a museum in 1982. The original building owner and company founder, C.J.L. Meyer also founded the town of Hermansville; his daughter married a Dr. Earle. When the original Earle family home was torn down in 1943, some of the house's contents were stored in the attics of the factory office. Present local descendents of the family do not know anything about these quilts.
