Essay:

This quilt was inspired by another Sawtooth quilt in the collection of the Michigan State University Museum.

The Sawtooth quilt is a great opportunity to use up scrap fabric. The greater number of 2 7/8" and 6 7/8" squares you have, the "scrappier" the quilt. You may choose a more controlled fabric selection by electing to create a two color quilt or by deciding to use the same fabrics in every block.

The pattern for this reproduction can be found in Great Lakes, Great Quilts.
