Describe where the quilting design pattern was found:

I also copied the exact quilt pattern used on Dovis' quilt. More quilting would have looked better but I wanted to duplicate the original quilt as close as possible.

Describe anything about the design of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

Whenever I stayed all night at my friend Dovis Thornton's home in Southfield, MI she always had a quilt on my bed made by her Grandmother, Sophie Jasper, East St. Louis, Illinois around 1920. I truly loved that quilt, it was made from used clothing and feed sacks. When I decided to copy it, Dovis let me take it home for a short while. All Dresden Plate quilts made in that era. The background was white or muslin, with pink or green solid colored centers in the plates and the pedals were usually made from used clothing and feedsacks. Sophie Jasper (Dovis's Grandmother) made the quilt and it was given to her daughter, Ida (Jasper) Wright (Dovis's Mother). When Ida was fourteen she ran away from home and married Fount Wright, he was 25 years old. The family always called her DUBBIE. Dovis's son, Keith gave a big party at his home to celebrate Dubbie's 100th birthday on July 5, 2001. Dubbie died July 17, 2001, her mind and sense of humor were sharp till the end. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. I have many fond memories of Dubbie and Fount.
