The blocks were made as a Secret Sister gift to me from Leanna Brunsell in 2003. In 2008 I had other friends of mine (Daisy DeHaven, Carol Schon, Ruth Dukelow, Roxie Stark, Lisa Wilson, Terry McKenney Person, Carol Seamon, Cyndee Mielock and Linda Khulman) make the Thrifty blocks for the alternate squares. In January of 2009, I pieced the top together, added pieced borders and machine and hand quilted the project.
