This quilt was made as a fundraiser for the Solar Circle, an organization whose mission is to purchase and place low-tech solar-powered ovens in Tanzanian villages. The quilt raised over $8000.00 for the organization through a raffle.

This quilt was made as a fundraiser for the Solar Circle, an organization whose mission is to purchase and place low-tech solar-powered ovens in Tanzanian villages. The quilt raised over $8000.00 for the organization through a raffle. The winner of the raffle donated the quilt back to the organization, and the quilt was put up for silent auction at the Great Lakes Folk Festival. MSU Museum purchased the quilt at the silent auction for $275.00 in August 2008.
