Features or notes about the quilt's appearance, materials, or construction:

This quilt is a wonderful example of red and green appliqué quilts of the mid 1800’s. It is set in a pleasing pattern with a swag border. The red and green fabrics are complimented with a cheddar yellow. The blocks are set in a way that creates a secondary pattern. The appliqué in this quilt is all worked by hand. The applique pieces are quilted very nicely. There are five blocks filled in around the edges with partial blocks. The border is a scallop with tassel. The solid colors are vivid. The green fabric is a very small dotted print.
