The quilting is unbelievably small in diagonal rows 1/4 inch apart. The other areas are filled in with feather circles.
Features or notes about the quilt's appearance, materials, or construction:
Blue and White quilts were popular around the turn of the 20th century. This color scheme came back again during the 1920’s and 1930’s but in much more muted colors. This quilt is signed with embroidery stitch-RGJ, 1924. It may have been one of the many patterns that was being produced at that time or possibly a kit quilt. The centers of the flowers are French knots. The appliqué is very fine overcast stitch. The batting was so thin, there is barely enough left to see there was batting. The quilting is unbelievably small in diagonal rows 1/4 inch apart. The other areas are filled in with feather circles. This quilt is one of a matching pair.
