Letter to industrialist Henry Ford from quiltmaker Hazel Crummey: 2 + 18 - 1937/ Queen City Texas/ Mr. Henry Ford Dear Sir - - i am sure you will be some what surprised to rec this letter and package from a little east texas girl Mr Ford i said when i was a little girl i was going to send you the first quilt i every made so i have finished my first quilt and am sending it to you as a present the name of the quilt is called the Double Weding Ring you can see my work in the quilt is not perfect but hope i will improve in making quilts as you have in making cars and i said when i was a little girl the first money i made of my own i was going to buy me a ford car and i still have that in mind to buy me a new ford with the first money i earn of my own for i am a lover of ford cars i will send you a snapshot of my self i am county girl like farm life i am 5 feet and 5 in- tall weight 1,25 pounds have brown wavy hair and blue eyes and fair complexion my age is 17 = years old i am the only one at home i have 3 sisters married and i live at home with dad and mother my hobies ar picnic [word unintelligable] and car riding will close hoping you will enjoy many many night sleep under the quilt i am sending you/ yours truly/ Miss Hazel Crummey
