Features or notes about the quilt's appearance, materials, or construction:
Quilt top is made from foundation garment fabrics. Although it is not indicated on the MRHC inventory card, because it was donated by a anonymous Gossard Girl, we believe that the fabric is from the Gossard Factory, Ishpeming, MI. Historian Phyllis Wong researched and honored the "Gossard Girls" in writing and lectures beginning in 2010. Her lecture included several quilts made from Gossard fabric and created an interest in several local Gossard girls to use fabrics they had in a project. Works at the Gossard were encouraged to take scraps that would be just thrown away.
Where did the maker get their materials?
Sewing scraps; Unknown
Describe the sources of the quilt's materials:
Under garment fabrics. Some woven in floral patterns. Gossard Factory, Ishpeming, Michigan
