Essay:
"This is a quilt! It has layers of fabric that are stitched together. This is my quilt! It has layers of fabric that were stitched and cut. For me, quilting is all about textures and colors. My color scheme is incorporated into the fabrics through dyeing and dye painting. Traditional quilts get their texture from quilting. My pieces get texture from the stitching and the raw edges that are revealed when it is cut into. Traditional quilts can be either pieced or whole cloth quilts. My quilts are not pieced. They begin as whole cloth but become holey cloth!"
