Essay:
"I want to combine machine stitching with hand stitching and find new ways to keep my images varied, complex, and fascinating. Each work needs to be spare, elegant, and secure in the integrity of its individual beauty. Power lies in rhythms that vibrate within and saturate the senses. The viewer, hopefully, understands how diverse and unique the artist's vision really is. While processes are not always new, the artist's vision is completely unique. By highlighting a seemingly inconsequential image and causing it to fill my vision, I give emphasis which is often neglected by the viewer's desire to identify and isolate the image. It is my 'job' to in some way confuse the viewer's eye while at the same time rewarding it with image recognition. I am joyfully exploring all aspects of this challenge and will continue to experiment with images and techniques that take old-world techniques and present them to today's technologically oriented viewer."
