Essay:
"This is an art quilt. it mimics the traditional tumbling block pattern but forms a block within a block design. The fabrics are brightly colored and varied. It is a scrap quilt in the truest sense, created by sewing two random strips of fabric together, then cutting those strips into a triangle subunit. The sub-units were then reassembled into hexagons and the hexagons were stitched together. The free-motion stitching creates a 3-dimensional effect that further defines the unstitched central blocks."
