Essay:
"The process of creating my art begins with... a moment in time - how to capture that moment is the question I seek to answer. To relive a feeling based on an image taken months ago drives my art. Back and forth until finally the time, the space, the thoughts, and the fabric become one. Living in a rural part of Connecticut, I passed many fields and farmlands on my daily drives through the back country roads, but it was not until November 2009 that I actually stopped and surveyed what lay before me. I felt the joy of discovery - these forms spoke to me. 'Take my picture' - 'Look at me' - 'Find me' were their words to me and only me. The desire to capture that moment was compelling, and the urge to incorporate daily occurrences into each art quilt drove me to the completion of each piece. This piece is part of my 'Hay Bale/Marshmallow' Series, which incorporates pictures of rolled hay bales and white plastic covered hay stacked-like sculptures on the sides of the roads."
