Essay:
"Our little company designs robotic equipment and installs robots in factories. On a regular basis I see drawings of circuits as well as actual circuit boards. Although my engineers see the circuit boards as such, I see the circuit boards as serendipitous art forms. Although I find many of these designs have a certain surreal beauty, they are cold and somewhat lifeless when they appear in the control cabinets. When I recreate these designs as embroidered quilts, the serendipity of the design is revealed. The quilt adds softness and texture. The elements of a circuit board as shown in a painting would still have a coldness and a distance. Yet when these same designs are part of an embroidered quilt, the entire design comes to life. The circuits themselves and the electrodes and other elements are soft and welcoming to the touch, yet ethereal and magic."
