Essay:
"The ocean fascinates me; with its constantly changing color and light, it's never the same. I'm in awe of how the invisible force of the wind patterns and changes the surface of the water. I live on the edge of a beautiful ocean in the Bahamas and this quilt was made to reflect the warm, sparkling, aqua water. I love using textiles to portray water because the surface of the ocean has such a tactile surface. I can use threads and beads to create depth and movement in the quilt. Yarns, fabrics, and fibers create a dimensional surface that other media don't allow."
