Essay:
This is a cotton crazy quilt with 30 11" square blocks. The quilt is thick with heavy batting. Embroided on the top edge of the binding is: "D.G.M Dec. 25, 1908" It is not quilted, but is tied with light yellow embroidery floss, the same floss used to outline each crazy piece and block in feather stitch. The dominant colors are blue and red, and the quilt is made form many printed cotton fabrics. It has a small solid blue border and binding, and is backed with a worn maroon fabric with a white stripe.
