Being skilled with a needle, it wasn't long before color combinations were selected carefully and artistry began to show through. Using what materials she had at hand the utilitarian quilt developed into lovely hand made household items worthy of whatever need arose be it personal or as a gift.

Had assumed Ethel Muse Wells had made this quilt, but because of the estimated date of construction, it's a pretty fair guess that her mother Scynthia A. Muse did it, although probably daughter Ethel helped. She would have been at most 10 years old.
