I make quilts because I enjoy creating something useful and beautiful that will be in use long after I am gone from this world. I find it a soothing tranquilizing pastime and I hope to do it for many years. Once made a special appliqued wedding quilt showing bride and groom, church, cradle.

Various appliques and California oakleaf (old pattern that varies but basic elements are the same). Old fashioned patterns. I do not like kits, and I enjoy picking out my own colors and choosing or adapting a pattern from a picture.

Amish women deliberately make mistakes because they believe only God is perfect.
