Essay:

The top is signed "Emma C. Zink Frey, Flint Michigan 1920." Charles Frey, Emma's husband, was involved in the early years of General Motors in Flint, Michigan. Quilting designs include; outline in the blocks, Ocean Waves in the sashing, feathered hearts in the corners, an original Mary Schafer design in the border triangles, and parallel diagonal lines in the border.
