I wanted to enter this quilt in the fair so was hurrying, got down to last corner of quilting and discovered a chimney out of place quilt took ribbons anyway!

I made a full size quilt in memory of my nephew who died accidently at 14 years old. It is made out of his clothes, Bambie sheet from childhood, emblems from his many hats, parts of his basketball shorts and even his gym towel. It is treasured by his parents!

Sometimes Mom helps quilt. The group recently disbanded, some went to work, some moved out of state etc.

We made group quilts drew members name for it. Quilt Shows. Taught each other new techniques.

When my neighbor Betty Martin found out I won a gold State Ribbon she wrapped a gold ribbon around our house and hung a bouquet on the porch railing!

Describe any favorite patterns, tools, etc. used by the quiltmaker:

Favorite patterns are pieced, have done some applique, but always go back to pieced perhaps because there are more of them. Favorite colors are blue and brown, they are colors I wear most. J.C. Penneys cheapest frame, has held through approximately 28 quilts. Also have large basting frame with C-clamps had antique one found in an old barn then made a new one with maple boards.
