The following information was supplied by the quiltmaker: If your quilt is based on a traditional pattern or an earlier quilt, what is the name of the pattern? Where did you learn the pattern? "The quilt is based loosely on the Flying Geese design but the quilt is not traditional." She "saw the block pattern in a book on quilting." Other techniques used include: "Confetti applique." How did you choose the materials used in your quilt? "They were materials I had in my fabric collection." How long have you been making quilts? "24 years." How did you learn to quilt? "Self taught in the beginning, then I started taking classes at quilt conferences." What was your primary reason for entering the Lands' End contest? Do you frequently enter your quilts in competition? "I enter for personal satisfaction, it would be nice to win big prize money. I enter many quilt competitions." Has being a winner in the Land's End contest made a difference in your life? Has it changed the way you look at your work as a quilt maker? "It is nice to know that others appreciate my work. I make quilts for my own personal satisfaction but it is nice to share them."
