Description of quilt:

Floral embroidered blocks (42) with names and locations from a wide variety of US states and Canada with dates of 1929-30.

Essay:

One of two purchased in Ocala, FL antique store. One block is from Leesburg, FL, about 30 miles south of Ocala. I can only guess that this is the person who collected the blocks and put them together into two quilts. Was there a publication or pattern-maker who sponsored a nationwide block exchange at that time? This quilt has a block from Canada; the second similar quilt has a block from England.
