Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

The signature blocks were exchanged at an event held in Yreka, CA in October of 1990. A tour group of English quilters were making their way across the USA, picking up American quilters as they travelled. Scarlett drove up to Yreka with members of her local guild, the Quilter's Sew-Ciety of Redding, CA and enjoyed an evening with all the visiting quilters. Each quilter had brought a stack of friendship blocks to trade! After she collected enough signature blocks, Scarlett used them in the Jack's Chain quilt layout along with some Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks she had pieced many years before. The fabrics in those flower garden blocks are from Scarlett's mother's scrap bag, so many of the fabrics are leftovers from clothing that Scarlett wore as a young girl. The yellow print in the background triangles was from yardage that Scarlett's mother hadn't used at all. Since "A Garden of Friends" has such fond memories associated with it, this quilt is a cherished part of Scarlett's quilt collection. This quilt is one of the many friendship quilts that Scarlett has made over the years. Because of its age, several of the signatures on this quilt are from quilters who are now deceased. This quilt has been exhibited at the 1991 Quilt America! show in Indianapolis, IN and the 1992 A Quilter's Gathering in Westford, MA. Two local quilt shows: Chester, CA in 1991 and Redding, CA in 1992.
