Blocks were raffled at Iowa Quilter's Guild November 1996 at Ottumwa, Iowa. Blocks won by Kathie Anderson and Shirlee Peteron were given to Catherine Litwinow. Catherine asked others to make blocks for her. Blocks were set together at the Mississippi Valley Fair in 1998.

Sunbonnet Sue is appliqued onto thirty 12-inch blocks. Each figure is holding something related to Christmas in her hand. The sashing forms red and green stars.
