Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

Carrie Minor collected ceramic roosters throughout her life. After she passed away in the early 90s, her collection was given away to family and friends, each of whom got to chose a rooster to keep in her memory. Carrie was a founding member of the Quilter's Sew-Ciety of Redding and she asked the membership to make her rooster friendship blocks. 19 members made blocks, so along with her own, this makes up the 20 blocks in this quilt top. There were very few patterns available at the time, so members used whatever resources they could find to get a rooster design that they could applique for Carrie. The hand quilting was done in 2019 by the Frontier Quilters of Anderson. Scarlett paid to have the hand quilting done, with the money going to support the Frontier Senior Center in Anderson, CA.

Why was the quilt made?
