Over seventy-five people representing four generations were in attendance. This included all ten living grandchildren of Sam and Katie. People brought Dougherty memorabilia to share – the family Bible, Catherine’s doll with her Dougherty auburn hair, family china, photographs and many memories. The family tree stretched around the room. After the Friday night banquet, Bob Brown presented a program – “Where We Came From”. Saturday everyone toured to Richmond to visit the opera house (Dougherty Auditorium) and hear about how it was in 1901. A caravan then visited several places of interest to the lives of the Doughertys. A picnic at the Richmond City Park ended the afternoon. After a lot of visiting at the park everyone returned to the Elms for more swimming and visiting. Sunday morning some of the group attended services at the First Christian Church in Richmond. Sam and Katie joined this church in 1893. This commemorative quilt was made by Eleanor Brown Malone, Wichita, Kansas.
