Nell Adams moved with her family from near Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to California in 1923. In 1924, her former neighbors in Oklahoma made and signed the blocks as an anniversary gift to Nell Adams and her husband, Richard. Nell Adams joined the blocks and quilted the quilt in Porterville, California.
