Details about why the quilt was made:

Out-going President's Quilt from the members of the Northwest Quilters Connection to Winifred (Wini) [Waters] Alexander of Lopez Island, WA. Many guilds across the country make a top or at least blocks for their out-going president. Sometimes they even quilt the quilt, although often it is the responsibility recipient to turn this top or blocks into a finished quilt. Northwest Quilting Connection follows the latter tradition so Wini received her blocks and turned them into a lovely quilt, designing her own layout, borders and back for the blocks.
