Red wool yarn ties are tied approximately every 4 inches creating a grid square pattern all over the top.

Features or notes about the quilt's appearance, materials, or construction:

Every patch is hand embroidered with elaborate combinations of various stitches. French knots, buttonhole stitch, star stitch, feather stitch and creton stitch. Flowers, a bird, a Fleur de lis medallion, and sheaths of wheat are also hand embroidered in the patches. The interviewer described the stitching as good.
