The quilting lines follow the outline of the pieced shape. Inside a square area, the parallel lines follow the outline inside the square. In the alternating blue squares, the star pattern is repeated to copy the outline of the yellow stars. The squared parallel lines mimic the yellow and white pieces of the star square.
