The owner (granddaughter) was born in 1931. Her grandmother pieced the quilt top for her before she died in 1937. In the late 1940's Clara Howell Pierce (her daugther-in-law) quilted and bound the quilt.

Pierce, Clara Howell finished 3 quilts that have been documented in the Quilt Index at 216, 217 & 218.
