Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
Donor history states: "This quilt was made by my mother's great Aunt Susan Kuhns (born 1787) for her niece Mariah Kuhns (born 1817), who married Amos Rumbaugh. All of the above mentioned were from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The brown fabric [on the quilt] was Mariah's "second day" dress or the one she wore the day after her wedding to begin house keeping in. I do not know if it was usual to make the small cradle quilt to match the large one. I know the Kuhns women almost always did. The family came from Alsace in 1738." See DAR 7128 for crib quilt. See also DAR 7123, DAR 7125, and DAR 7126 for other quilts from same Donor.
