Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

Donor history states that the counterpane and object 76.14.2 (blanket) were in the hope chest of Susan Cummings (b. 4/4/1793) who married James Sperry (b. 7/5/1789) on June 25, 1829. The blanket is embroidered with a "S. C." Even though the donor states that the coverlet was made by Susan Cummings, it is typical loom quilted Marseilles and was probably purchased but altered to fit a tester bed. Susan Cummings Sperry was the donor's great, great grandmother, the second wife of James Sperry. She was nicknamed "Sukey", perhaps to distinguish her from James' first wife, Susan Cummings, who died in 1828. See paper file and donor's mother's DAR membership application.
