QuiltHistF059
Donor states quilt was made from bed curtain owned by Mehitable Mather [Born November 14, 1774] of Old Lyme, Connecticut, by her daughter Mary Sill [born January 26, 1812]. Printed textile dates from 1790's, lining and quilting added mid 19th century. Mehitable Mather was the daughter of Samuel and Lois Mather, also of Old Lyme. On November 6, 1799 Mehitable married Captain Thomas Sill. Mary was the seventh of their eight children. The quilt was brought to Hawaii by descendants and donated to the DAR by the Aloha chapter.
