Donor states that her Aunt Bessie's mother made the quilt in 1915, in Iowa, after seeing a picture in a magazine. She designed and pieced the blocks herself and added the date in blocks at the bottom of the quilt. The calico came from Aunt Bessie's brother's store in Cameron, Missouri in 1915.
