Five borders surround center wreath in the following order: light blue/red/white squares, set on point, 4" wide; a stuffed running vine of leaves, flowers, and fruit, with a background of herringbone quilting, 8 1/2" wide; a band of blue and brown cotton 3" wide; a two-block brown and white checkerboard zig-zag, with a background of diamond quilting, 9" wide; a final band of blue and brown cotton, 4 1/2" wide.

Donor (now unknown) stated this framed medallion quilt was made by a niece of Ethan Allen. Research shows that Ethan came from a family of eight children and his first wife had ten siblings, so while the story is possible, the name of the quilt maker remains uncertain.
