Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
At the time of the 1860 census, Mary Smitson was a 16-year-old living in Bracken County, Kentucky, with her mother, stepfather, and seven brothers and sisters. Her 40-year-old widowed mother had married Martin L. Baker, a 37-year-old farmer, the previous year. During the 1860's Mary married Elijah C. Elliott, and lived in Jackson Station, Tipton County, Indiana. Elijah Elliott was the owner of the general store, a stave and a heading factory. She had two daughters, Ida (born 1868) and Lucy M. (Born 1870). After he died she married Dimmit Rice. According to the 1900 census, she was widowed and living in Tipton County, Indiana with her youngest daughter. She died around 1925.
