Made for grandson Bob in 1954, this appliqué/embroidered design is similar to #090 Indian Block made in 1944 for grand-daughter Susan; however, this one has an appliqué squirrel which the other does not have.

Grand-daughter Susan Salser began this research effort in 1991, after she and her two sisters divided up the quilts which belonged to their mother (Elsie Gasperik Krueger) who died in 1988. Her ongoing research has been fruitful and interesting.
