Tell the story of how the quilt was obtained:
Quilt made by owner's grandfather. He lived with his wife, Anna Jane Murphy Watson, on a farm with their seven children. Mr. Watson, a farmer, took up quiltmaking when tuberculosis kept him from regular employment. He made a quilt for each of his seven children. Each quilt carried its recipient's initials. The boys' quilts were appliqued with farm implements: rakes, hoes and plows. The girls' quilts had appliqued household objects: utensils, lamps and pitchers. This quilt is the only one remaining, made for his youngest daughter, Theressa Camp Watson. When Theressa was thirteen, Mr. Watson passed away. Owner is granddaughter of Ephraim and daughter of Theressa.
