Rated 3 (good) on HQPNJ's scale for visual effect. Nice quilt and good use of color and nice fabrics. A profusion of well-known fabrics from the 1870's to the 1890's are included in this quilt, probably one of the first made by Clarence Lashley. His sense of color and design is already apparent in the way he has placed the double-pink stars so they shine within the dark green and blue striped lattice to give this quilt a slight three dimensional quality.
